Viewsat Sues Echostar For $100 Million
Viewsat has filed a $100 million lawsuit against Echostar claiming...
Echostar is attempting to strong-arm dealers / installers to prevent sales of FTA receivers, claiming such receivers can only be used for illegal purposes, and claiming that action will be taken against anyone sellling or installing FTA products.
They fail to mention that Echostar themselves manufactures and sells their own line of FTA receivers and would like to restrict the sales of FTA products to itself alone. Echostar has severely hurt Viewsat's business by making unfounded claims and circulating documents stating that Viewsat intended for their products to be used in an illegal manner and assisted in such use.
Viewsat alleges that Echostar has engaged in pointless litigation hoping to drive everyone out of the FTA receiver business and prohibit any competition to Echostar in the FTA market.
